About Us

by Jack Thompson

Santa Clara Valley Carvers is a group of people dedicated to the art of woodcarving.  The club began in 1967 under the National Wood Carvers of America.  Since 1974, the club has been affiliated with the California Carvers Guild (CCG).  The California Carvers Guild has grown to over 50 chapters representing more that 900 carvers throughout the state.

The purpose of the chapter is to promote the woodcarving experience by teaching beginners how to carve, sharing techniques and experience among carvers and to offer instruction by carvers from all over the world through seminars.
